Rules

Split a standard 52 card deck into 2 piles, one pile of all spade and club cards (grid deck), and the other of all hearts and diamond cards (draw deck). Each pile should not be sorted and should be face down. To begin the game, draw nine cards from the grid deck and place them face up in a 3X3 grid, you no longer need the grid deck. Then draw four cards from the draw deck to your hand. You must always have 4 cards in your hand at all times.

Each turn the player can play any number of cards that add up exactly to one of the cards in the 3x3 grid. The number on a card is its value, otherwise A = 1, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13. Remove from the 3x3 grid the specified card to the discard. If the player can not play any cards from their hand to equal one of the cards in the 3x3 grid, then the player must select one of the four cards in their hand to place into the grid. If it is the first turn and the player can not play a card, shuffle the hand into the draw deck and draw four more cards, repeat this until the player is able to play.

The game is won when the 3x3 grid is completely emptied, the game is lost if the player can not longer draw any cards from the deck and can not wipe the 3x3 grid. The game is also lost if it is not the first turn, the 3x3 grid is full and the player can't remove any cards.
