Split a standard 52 card deck into 2 piles, one pile of all spade and club cards, and the other of all hearts and diamond cards. Each pile should not be sorted and should be face down. To begin the game, draw 4 cards from the hearts/diamond pile, this is your hand. Next, flip the top card of the spades/clubs pile face up. Play any number of cards, from highest value to lowest value, in your hand until you either match or exceed the value presented by the flipped card, you can not play more cards than are necessary for this. The number on a card is its value, otherwise A = 1, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13. Once cards are played, flip the next card in the spades/clubs pile and draw one card from the hearts/diamonds pile, then repeat the summation step. If you are unable to play cards to match or exceed the value, or there are no cards remaining in either deck to draw, then you lose. If you empty your hand, you win.
